Have you sat through films such as Father of the Bride or Wedding Crashers and wondered what it would be like to attend a wedding that chaotic? Returning to the Adelaide Fringe is the hilarious Confetti & Chaos, the dinner show that throws you into a wedding reception where anything that can go wrong does go wrong.

After sellout seasons in past years of the Adelaide Fringe, Confetti & Chaos is back and is chaotic as ever. The premise behind the show is simple. We, the audience, are guests at a surprise wedding reception for Will and Stacey, thrown together by Stacey’s parents, Lynn and Ray. What then unfolds is two hours of side-splitting comedy with surprise guests, family secrets exposed and Elton John. All while you enjoy a three course meal.

Like their sister show, Faulty Towers The Dining Experience, the magic of Confetti & Chaos lies in the interaction between the actors and the audiences. The cast, Jack Newell, Monique Lewis Reynolds, Eilannin Harris-Black and Scott Middleton work as a tight unit. They bounce off each other magnificently and switch between each role (all of them playing 2 or 3 different characters) with ease. You often forget you are watching a show and not at an actual wedding reception.

I have seen Confetti & Chaos a few times now, and it keeps getting better. The script has been fine-tuned into a wonderful, hilarious work. The jokes are nonstop and really anything could (and does) happen.

If the term ‘interactive theatre’ worries you, don’t let it. This cast, and the structure of the show, allow any audience member to participate to the level they are comfortable, with no pressure.

Grab your friends and family and join this chaotic wedding for a guaranteed excellent night out at the Fringe. It’s chaotic, it’s crazy and it’s a roller coaster of hilarity by an exceptional cast.
