Gogo Bumtime is the critically acclaimed and awry perspective of an inside point of view of an altered mental state — what Gogo (Siobhan Gibbs) is on, is a debate worthy of its own fringe show but it is like nothing I’ve ever seen. It’s a colourful rhapsody of taking experimental drugs without actually consuming the pharmaceuticals. Gogo and Bumhole believe that they are part of a variety television show inhabited by a technicolour cesspool of characters a from Irish cook Deidre and a talking potato hand puppet to a Steve Irwin tribute burlesque number. No inflatable reptilians were harmed in the making of this review (I hope!)
It’s a hot mess of chaotic musical cabaret that is so dirrty Christina would blush! Gogo was was so endearingly vulgar that the crowd enthusiastically shed their inhibitions and had great audience participation, with a high energy and rapport as we joined in singing about all natural muffs with pubic pride (there is the strangest review I’ve ever composed!) Siobhan lost their voice during the performance but their mastery of showmanship is that they continued on. It was still as entertaining as if they had been in full throated songbird mode.
I don’t know if there was a point to this show beyond we all should maintain good anal hygiene and I took away the message from Gogo and Bumhole that sometime we need to care for each others bumholes by not being assholes.
