Burlesque as an art form, by its very nature can be varied and difficult to lock into a definition. Confessions Club Vol III embodies this premise well. In its third year at the Adelaide Fringe, and its third incarnation, Confessions Club Vol III does what is said on the tin, so to speak.

This isn’t just a flesh-fest for admirers of the female form, there are carefully constructed themes, intriguing stories, and jaw dropping routines that entertain, tantalise, and of course leave you wanting more. And yes, there’s a plethora of beautiful women who at times are not wearing much.

Weekly Award Winners during The Adelaide Fringe in 2025, organisers suggest that this is “The late night *Naughty* you need to experience this fringe.” But it’s presented with class, and it’s fun. The show’s unapologetically about sex, arousal, and pleasure, but it’s not smutty.

Featuring local and interstate performers, amateur and professional, the on-stage talent was diverse and high-quality. Talented and creative women, of all backgrounds, sizes, shapes, and styles, confidently presenting themselves in an expression of art for the audience’s entertainment.

The audience was appreciative, and weren’t shy about letting the entertainers know. Sexy, scantily clad women are always going to sell tickets, but even while Adelaide was flooded with drunken rev-heads, the audience was filled with nothing but respectful folk who liked what they saw and weren’t yobbos about it.

At the time of writing this there are still tickets available for their last two shows on the 6th and 7th of March. I’d buy your tickets now though, as these last two shows will likely sell out.

Get there early for the show too. The audience is encouraged to enjoy a drink at the bar before and after the show, and don’t forget that some seats at the Nexus Arts Venue are better than others, so you want to be first through the doors when the auditorium opens.
