Gillian Cosgriff’s new show, Life, Oh Life, examines life and the passage of time with her trademark clever lyrics and witty storytelling. With commentary on using AI for therapy, generational trademarks (such as the Furby), aging and passing milestones, Gillian entertains through song and stories. Gillian’s original songs are catchy with a pop/jazz flair, her pianistic skills and masterful vocals showing that she is a remarkable musician as well as a hilarious comedian and extraordinary lyricist.
One of the beautiful things about Gillian Cosgriff’s shows is that they are not only funny, but also leave you thinking about your own existence and how it can be made better, whether that’s through the notecards of life advice left for the audience by the previous audience (and we had the opportunity to write advice cards for the next audience), or by some excellent self-care advice (on an unrelated note, if anyone can tell me what the sexy boat books are, I’d appreciate it. Asking for a friend). Gillian’s humour also doesn’t come at the expense of others, but rather comes from collective experience of life and generational experiences, providing an hour of feel-good laughter.
Gillian has done it again with another show that is endlessly funny, clever, and leaves you smiling for all the right reasons. There are only two performances left for Gillian’s Adelaide season, so make sure to buy a ticket while you still can.
