Australian comedy royalty The Umbilical Brothers have made their much anticipated return to the Adelaide Fringe with their highly successful show, Speedmouse.
It is no surprise that their Adelaide season is selling fast (and some sessions sold out!) as Dave and Shane are absolute masters of their craft. Their physical comedy is hilarious and is only elevated by the addition of their incredible vocalised sound effects.
The Umbilical Brothers have revamped a lot of Speedmouse for this Fringe, adding in a lot more laughter and building on already established jokes. Their stage manager, Tina, makes her triumphant return, along with their roadie. If you have no idea who Tina or the roadie is…book your tickets to find out. If you do know…book your tickets to see this new version of the show.
The skits within the show have the audience constantly laughing out loud. This duo certainly knows how to keep the laughs and gags coming hard and fast — you barely have time to catch your breath before the next one lands.
The only small criticism goes to the venue. For a show that requires you to be able to see the stage, The Box packs the crowds in and the seating is flat. This results in you struggling at times to have a good view of the stage without crowding on the personal space of the person next to you or missing bits of the action.
With only a few performances remaining that have seats, don’t miss seeing this incredible comedy duo, Tina and their roadie. This is Australian comedy at its absolute finest.
