THE GREAT BEER V WINE DINNER Friday 18th February @ Restaurant at Treasury 1860 It was to be my first show of the 2022 Adelaide Fringe season and I was excited to be seeing a local production by acclaimed Adelaide performer and venue manager, Anna Thomas. Set in the historic Treasury 1860, I knew I would be treated to some of the finest food in town. Not only was the three-course meal divine (cold smoked kingfish, lamb cutlets, Belgian chocolate and hazelnut tart, plus all the trimmings), the “show” was more of an experience, both delicious and educational. Denham from Barossa Valley Brewing and Russell from Cooper Burns Wines took it in turns to introduce their matched beer or wine to each course, doing their upmost to convince us their beverages are superior. After each course, the diners voted for their preferred brew. Even though I had my preconceptions on my favoured drink, it was an eye-opening experience, a mini-degustation for the senses. Personally, it was fabulous to sample beer and wine from producers I wasn’t familiar with, and it was also wonderful to share this experience with a chef, and listen to his insights on the pairings. This show is for wine and beer lovers alike – highly recommend it! Oh, and wine won by a drop! Running on Friday and Saturday 11th and 12th March SOLD OUT For more detailed reviews tune into Hush & Pandemonium on Three D Radio 93.7FM on Monday 28th February 9-11pm
