If professional development came with freestyle rap, crowd work, and gut laughing, it would look exactly like a Daniel Delby show. From the opening interactive roll call in the front row, where he casually launches into a freestyle rap about people’s names and roles, Daniel had a room full of early childhood educators, primary and high school teachers, principals, and ESOs absolutely hooked. In a space where “roll call” usually means attendance sheets and mild dread, Daniel somehow made it legendary.
The energy? High. The laughs? Relentless. The connection with the audience? Instant. Teachers shared their own stories, photos, displays, work samples (some braver than others 😳) and Daniel’s lightning-fast wit turned every contribution into comedy gold. No two shows are the same, return attendees proved that, and his timing and improvisation kept the laughs flowing like a well-managed class transition (on a good day).
A special shout-out to guest comedian Amy Hetherington, who delivered a perfect comedic ‘brain break’, bringing a hilarious parent’s perspective on teachers before Daniel took us back into “Lesson Two” of classroom chaos, management, and glorious mismanagement.
Daniel Delby delivered a two hour lesson in laughter, relatability, and shared ‘trauma’ disguised as entertainment. For anyone who works in a school, knows a teacher, is a teacher, or has ever been taught by one, this show meets your learning style.
Honestly, teachers could log this as professional development hours… because laughter is self-care, and this was curriculum aligned joy.
