See Do Eat Review has reviewed "Wonderfully Terrible Things" several times over the years, and one thing I love about this show is that it’s constantly evolving. Whether it be a change in cast members, jokes, or songs, Christina Ibrahim (aka Cirque Songstress) is always searching for show perfection. At Adelaide Fringe 2026, she seems to have found it!
If you don’t know Wonderfully Terrible Things, the best way to describe it is that it is the very best of the Adelaide Fringe, all in one chaotic show. Singing, dancing, comedy, cirque, you name it. Cirque Songtress is, of course, the star of this performance, telling stories of her past life, while mixing political humour, biting comedy and truth bombs that will leave you blushing. Along for the ride is a delightful cast of sinners: the dangerous yet hypnotising, whip-cracking Natalya Alessi, statuesque, fire-brand daddy in Nat Oakes (of Club D’Amour fame), Viking-inspired, nail-biting Captain Finhead, and the world’s most beautiful man, Jordan Adams. Don’t let his looks fool you, though; strap in when you see this guy perform!
Although personally I preferred the lighting and the intimacy of the Ukiyo tent (where WTT previously performed), the Octagon venue caters to a bigger crowd, better atmosphere and more space for the WTT crew to perform. Cirque Songstress brings plenty of laughs with her unbridled, unapologetic humour. And, although at the beginning of the show, the audience seemed aghast at the vulgarities coming out of her mouth, WTT provides a safe enough space for everyone to feel welcome and join in the naughty fun. I’d never seen so many boomers laughing hysterically at the chance to shout out naughty words.
WTT has everything you need in a Fringe show. With Natalya high-pointing it in high heels, Nat demonstrating her hate for bubbles, Captain Finhead showing a different way to hold a flaming trident, or Jordan giving a bird's-eye view to a lucky audience member, the performers all play their roles with vigour and adults-only fun. Down, dirty and absolutely delicious, you’ll get the FULL FRINGE EXPERIENCE from this wonderfully terrible show!
