Elixir Revived – ★★★★½ (4.5/5)
Created by Head First Acrobats, Elixir Revived is one of the standout circus-comedy offerings of the Adelaide Fringe (and has also made waves at Fringe World). Set in a chaotic laboratory where experiments go wildly right (and wrong), the show blends daring acrobatics, aerial stunts, strength-based circus, knife throwing, and a generous dose of “boylesque” charm.
The cast — AJ, Liam, Thomas, and Cal — are undeniably skilled. The aerial work is jaw-dropping, the partner acrobatics are powerful and precise, and the physical control on display is seriously impressive. Beyond the technical ability, what truly elevates the show is the chemistry between the performers. Their comedic timing and slapstick moments land well, and the cheeky audience interaction keeps the energy high and inclusive.
There’s a playful “mad scientist meets zombie experiment” thread running through the production, giving it a slightly raw, chaotic edge that suits the late-night fringe vibe. It’s sexy, high-energy, and doesn’t take itself too seriously — often described as a mash-up of Cirque-style spectacle with Magic Mike swagger.
The pacing rarely dips, and the crowd engagement keeps the momentum alive throughout.
Overall, Elixir Revived is hilarious, bold, and physically astounding. A must-see fringe show that delivers both laughs and jaw-dropping circus skill — earning a very solid 4.5 out of 5.
