I’ve seen Bubble Show for Adults Only at least half a dozen times over the past few years, and there’s nothing quite like seeing grown adults getting excited over seeing bubbles being created and, best of all, trying to pop them. This is a show that brings out the kid in all of us, albeit in a hilarious adults-only setting!
For a Tuesday night crowd, the audience was lively. They may have been a little older in demographic, but they brought the laughter, applause and childhood joy that a bubble show like this brings out in people. Kurt and Iulia, the stars of AO Bubble Show, certainly aren’t short of energy. Hyping up each other and the audience whenever the show feels like it may be drifting off, even when their bubble creations don’t quite work the first time, they keep the crowd entertained with all sorts of shenanigans. The basic storyline of this act is that bubbles and sex create cash, and through a series of wild and crazy skits, this duo bring the bubble world to life.
Over the course of an hour, we got to see how bubbles react to aliens, a rave bubble party and a shadow puppet scene that will give the male audience members nightmares. And if you think you’ve seen all this show has to offer before, think again, because in 2026 Iulia takes to the pole with a performance that shows off her strength, flexibility and aerial artistry.
Every year I go to the AO Bubble show, and EVERY year I am blown away. No two shows are the same. And, when you’re working with such a soapy element like bubbles, they don’t stick to performance rules just because it’s a show night. That’s what makes this duo, and this show, one of the most spectacular displays of skill, talent and art at the Adelaide Fringe.
