Charlie Caper is back in Adelaide to deliver The Future, a clever blend of magic, robotics, comedy and a side of heart. Right from the start, Caper had the audience’s attention with spot-on timing and undeniably world-class magic that would surprise even the most sceptical of audience members.

What really sets The Future apart is how confidently Caper leans into technology. Enter Sparky, the adorable robot dog, and Bob, his AI sidekick, who add warmth, humour and many delightful moments. The tech is smart and inventive, and seamlessly woven into the show, highlighting the idea that technology doesn’t replace wonder, it can enhance it.

After earning international acclaim on the global festival circuit, Caper is back this year following the success of his previous Fringe hit, Magical. This latest show feels both fresh and mesmerising, bringing a real sense of innovation and illusion to the stage, that would suit audiences of all ages.

Adults and kids alike will be drawn into Caper’s futuristic world, not just by the spectacle, but by the playful way the show explores the line between artificial and authentic. If you’re looking for a Fringe show that’s smart and genuinely crowd-pleasing, this one is absolutely worth your time.
