Adelaide’s most eligible bachelor and premiere comedian, the handsome and brilliant, Rohan Harry is back with the karaoke Fringe experience to end all karaoke Fringe experiences in 2026 with the musical super show, Burp Me Baby One More Time. Rohan has been considerate enough to have his karaoke extravaganza in once place and not inconvenience the good people of this fair city with a drunken conga line and/or flash mob doing dances that were rejected from Dance Dance Revolution all over Adelaide! No he had the good taste to have it Adelaide’s artiest arty dive bar, Arthur Arthouse. Rohan is the sort of survivor that puts Destiny’s Child to shame and has created a musical masterpiece that features local landmarks, road trips from Sandra from HR and dancing in the kitchen again after a personal tragedy.

I am not entirely unconvinced that this entire fringe show is just actually a front for Harry to get an artist pass and shill as much obsolete technology as he can in a World Guinness attempt to sell the most cassette tapes in the twenty first century. Where is he finding them? Does he just like have a room at his house like Smaug’s cave where he hoards obsolete technology in the hopes that it will appreciate in value? For the price of under $200, you can buy a device that will convert the tapes Rohan is selling as merch into MP3 files. If you can afford to do this, then for the love of god, tell me what is on those tapes?!!

In all serious, Rohan has created an hour of laughter and fun based on his skewed, alternative take on reality where his comedy very much can situates itself in the theatre of the absurd and musical parody. What makes Harry’s show so special is that it’s shambolic mayhem is what gives the audience permission to join in with him as he misbehaves and unleashes chaos. The night I attended, everyone was in high spirits and very enthusiastically participated including singing alone and dancing in their seats making it an authentic karaoke atmosphere even if the songs were not quite the ones we grew up with.

I’ve seen other shows of Harry’s where he has dealt with much more serious subject matter like his recovery from a debilitating medical condition as musical theatre. Burp Me Baby One More Time is Rohan Harry’s karaoke tribute to Rohan Harry’s greatest hits. There’s also some very tasteful cat jokes that bumped this up half a star!
