This was more music than Frankly’s previous cabaret shows but this was just as good. A wonderful performer every thing they come back to Adelaide. I was so fortunate as I nearly missed the show this festival.

A low-key affair, well, as low-key as Frankly can get. Her natural comedic sensibilities still shine in the banter between songs. Her trademark wit is in the lyrics, the tracks exploring deep themes, with her charisma keeping the vibes positive & fun. And despite her promise of normal songs, she snuck in one written from the view of a horse. Skillfully performed & beautifully sung melodies with evocative lyrics, ISLANDS is an intimate night of musical bliss.

I really enjoyed this intimate mix of music and humor. The songwriting felt honest and atmospheric, and the comedic moments added a lovely touch throughout. Even the air conditioner didn’t distract from the experience :) . A thoughtful, captivating show that I’m very glad I went to.

Very normal songs in a very normal room at a very normal temperature. Frankly is a marvellous talent.
