Adelaide Fringe and Schools Program Partner 9News are excited to announce the winner of the 2022 Schools Poster Competition - Tryphena, a Year 10 student at The Heights School.
Tryphena’s minimalist design is a play on words, with her youthful character sporting a fun ‘fringe’ hairdo. “I took the concept very literally,” Tryphena says, “I wanted it to be cute and fun, and include a lot of pink!”
While still enjoying the art of paint and paper, Tryphena found her passion for digital art in year 8 and has been pushing her skills further ever since. She hopes to pursue a career in journalism after high school, while continuing to incorporate her love for art and sport into her life.
The Schools Poster Competition attracted over 700 entries this year, from Government, Independent, Catholic and Homeschool systems and included students ranging from K to Year 12. Students were encouraged to submit artwork which investigated themes of inclusiveness, diversity, and the overall excitement of the Adelaide Fringe. The judging panel was impressed by the passion, skills and creativity of the entries.
Tryphena’s artwork will appear on the cover of the 2022 Schools Booking Guide, and thanks to Program Partner 9News, her class will also attend a performance by a 2022 Fringe artist.
The Schools Booking Guide is available to read online right now, with over 2000 printed copies distributed to SA schools over the last week. The Guide features all the information you need on the Schools Program, including a list of shows for schools, how to access discounted tickets, Equity discount for category 1 to 4 schools, and assistance for teachers looking to book Fringe experiences for their students.
