Sh!t-faced Shakespeare - A Midsummer Night's Dream

An entirely serious Shakespeare play with an entirely sh!tfaced actor. What could possibly go right?

 Emotional roller-coaster
23 February 2026 - Barbara R.
Totally overrated show. The concept is good on paper, but it doesn’t live up to it. It’s presented as real theatre where one actor derails the performance and the others improvise, but you only realise this halfway through, after feeling irritated for quite some time. Not everyone knows Hamlet well enough to follow the joke. A short brief of the story would really help. Actors were hard to hear, and clearer delivery and articulation would have made it far more entertaining overall.

This was worth the hype. Hilarious rendition of Hamlet with improv jokes, audience participation and of course the one actor who’s had a few too many… or was a lot of the drunk act put on?! But who cares?! It was a lot of fun
