Her Story of the Blues–A watercolour painting of a person with their back to the viewer, walking away, carrying a suitcase in each hand and a guitar on their back, facing a horizon of hills ahead, as if embarking upon a long journey. In the far right corner is a city-scape in the distance, with bright lights. A silhouette of onlookers in the shadows, appears at the bottom of the image.

Her Story of the Blues

Music of the trailblazing women who pioneered the blues, conceived rock & pop, then got - forgotten!

A history lesson of the blues at my favourite venue, Holden Street Theatres. A nice final show for me and Adelaide Fringe 2026. Really enjoyed the music and the audience participation. Marie Thérèse is a talented performer, both with guitar and keyboards and the effects pedal. I'd love to see her again. Thank you.

This homage sheds light on talented female & queer musicians - particularly black African American people - who were early blues pioneers & the exploitation & hardships they endured. It was both interesting & entertaining with terrific music (guitar, keyboard & looping) by Marie Therese & fascinating work by an Auslan interpreter 💎
