Presented by: Alison Paradoxx - Performance Poet (Alison Bennett)
Alison Bennett burst onto the performance poetry scene in 2016, when she won The South Australian Poetry Slam. Alison then represented SA at the Sydney Opera House for the National Poetry Slam Final.
She has performed as a feature artist widely throughout Adelaide’s spoken word community, and been involved in a variety of collaborative projects including poetry installations, and high-school workshops.
As a disabled and chronically ill artist, Alison explores the paradoxes of disability, and the societal desire to 'fix' the broken self. Under the moniker, Alison Paradoxx, she utilises her background in performance to articulate injury and trauma through theatrical multimedia displays.
Alison hosts a monthly open-mic performance night, on every second Sunday, at The Libertine by Louis
