Colour & Form

Koji Hoashi returns to Adelaide with an exhibition of new ceramic forms, after his successful and sold out grouping of Tea bowls which were exhibited in "The Art of the Tea Bowl" exhibition, held during the 2021 Adelaide Fringe Festival. This new collection of finely thrown forms will include elegant blossom vases, large plates and tea bowls that will be decorated with a glaze layering technique which creates a patterning effect that will intrigue and engage the viewer.

Koji Hoashi is a Japanese born artist who lives in Ballarat, Victoria and is currently senior lecturer in Ceramics at the Federation University. His works are greatly admired by his peers and collectors alike and are also part of the following collections. Geelong Art Gallery. Shepparton Art Museum. Bendigo Art Gallery.

Allow plenty of time to explore this intriguing display of ceramics by one of Australia's leading exponents of stoneware glazes. Marvel at the quality of the blood reds, the iron blue chuns and the earthy shino glazes, all applied with dexterity.
