Tonight! a clown who wanted to be loved?
Slow-motion boxing, tape measure tangles, wild pizza dancing. In a playful and absurd crescendo, a hopelessly romantic (and sometimes a little naughty) Italian clown who doesn't speak English tries everything he knows to get the only thing he wants. To be loved? It might sound poetic, but it’s very silly.
Tonight! confronts one of the most classic challenges faced by every clown, and probably by every human: the urge to find love. In a crescendo of comic absurdity, the audience is carried joyfully - and sometimes literally - through a bizarre quest for love.
Winner of Moontagna Fest award at Catania Fringe 2024.

Reviews & Fringefeed Reacts
Andrea is a clown (...) with exquisite comedic skills and a ton of understated stage presence. - Mallory Moad, Kings River Life Magazine
This show is a joy to watch. At various points I realized I was laughing hysterically at Barello’s simple delivery of a monosyllabic word. - Sarah Siddiqui, Parton & Pearl
A delightful solo show with a Mr. Bean-esque quality to it - Janine Marley, A View from the Box
Comico e tragico si fondono in un binomio inscindibile, a rappresentare la natura dicotomica dell’esistenza stessa. - Alice Palumbo, Cose Nostre News
Presented by: Andrea Barello
Andrea Barello, born and raised in Italy, approached the world of comedy in San Francisco, when he inexplicably decided to take an improv class. He performed in many ensembles, including the Turkish-Italian duo Euro Trash, which toured comedy festivals in the USA and Europe.
When he stumbled into clowning, he immediately knew that he had found his home. Over the years he has studied clown and physical theater with master teachers around the world, including Philippe Gaulier, Aitor Basauri, Paola Coletto, and Dr. Brown.
He currently lives in Los Angeles, where he hikes in the Hollywood hills and creates silly clown acts.
Tonight! is his first solo show. Conceived and developed in Los Angeles, it was well received at Edinburgh Fringe, Toronto Fringe Festival, and Fringe Italia Off.
