Mel & Sam are an award-winning, queer, Gen-Z musical comedy duo from Naarm, known together for their high octane, brilliantly chaotic and somewhat-unhinged musical comedy sketch shows which feature entirely original tracks and scores.
Their body of work includes ‘No Hat, No Play! The Cabaret’, ‘Shit-Wrecked!’, ‘High Pony’ and most recently ‘The Platonic Human Centipede’. The girls also have a podcast called ‘Ratbag with Mel & Sam’.
The girls are known for their spiky attitude, for their ability to speak to and to truly represent a ‘Gen Z’ or ‘youth’ voice, for bridging the gap between theatre kids and people-who-would-rather-die-than-be-called-a-theatre-kid and often also for their fierce representation of queer joy in all their work.
