The Bacchae
Theatre and Physical Theatre
• Physical Theatre
A reworking of the Ancient Greek classic 'The Bacchae,' by Euripides, this
piece uses a combination of classical and contemporary text in order to
examine what it is to be divinely feminine, brutally violent and powerful.
Follow the Bacchae, a group of eight young women, as they take you on a
journey to uncover the power of the oppressed.
Presented by: Shannan Ely
Shannan Ely, director, and Clare Staunton, designer, are recently graduated NIDA students, bringing their dark and violently feminine graduating production to the Fringe stages.
