Max is part-way through blowing out silver candles on a pink and white birthday cake. The frame is close up, and the lighting is warm yellow due to the glow of the candles.
The lit up numbers 1 and 6 sit on the floor beside a pink and white decorated birthday cake, with a pink walking stick lying on the floor in front of them both. Lighting is a deep blue, highlighting the warm yellow tones of the numbers.

SICK-STEEN

Starring in their debut solo cabaret show, Max Olman shares heir unique perspective on their experience becoming disabled due to chronic illness during their teenage years.

With a goal of allowing those living with disability of all ages to feel seen, heard, understood and celebrated, Max shares the good, the bad and the ugly of living with a disbaility, with interesting anecdotes and original songs around each twist and turn. Max dreams of a world where disabled folk are treated with equity and kindness, so they developed SICK-STEEN to invite EVERYONE to exist in that world, even if it's only for 60 minutes.

Max knows they're not perfect, and they will acknowledge the existence of internalised ableism within themself and society throughout the show.
