This one time event gives the opportunity to Fringe goers and the wider community to experience and immerse themselves in Zenadth Kes (formerly known as Torres Strait) culture. From thousands of kilometres away and thousands and thousands of years ago, Uncle Eddie Peters brings you Meriba Sagul, Meriba Wed. This show will provide a range of performers showcasing Zenadth Kes cultures.
Uncle Eddie, the artistic Director of the show is bringing artists from Zenadth Kes to share and showcase culture, making a
truly unique show for the Zenadth Kes and broader community in South Australia.

Presented by: Eddie Peters
Eddie is from Zenadth Kes (formerly known as the Torres Strait Islands) His language group is Kulkal Gau Ya, Kala Lagaw Ya from his Father’s side and Meriam from his Mother’s side. He has lived in Adelaide for over 30 years.
For the past 30+ years, Eddie has been educating the broader public about the Zenadth Kes cultures through sharing traditional songs, dances, stories, music, history, geography, and arts and crafts from his own heritage. Eddie is currently the Chairperson and Co-producer for Nunga Wangga (Radio Adelaide) while also working as an Aboriginal Community Education Officer at schools and performing regularly.
Eddie has been recognised as Mr. NAIDOC 1999 and NAIDOC Person of the year in 2020.
