Love is a Game: An Adele Song Cycle
Hello, it’s me… and an ensemble of Adelaide artists ready to present a series of Adele songs to Someone Like You!
Conceptualised by Oliver John, this song cycle performance will share an array of short stories told through Adele's hit songs on stage, taking you on a journey of love and connection. Akin to a series of music videos; once one song ends, a new story will begin.
Led by vocal powerhouses Mackenzie Garcia, Sammi Keough and Oliver John, the cast portray a different world of characters in each piece as they explore what it means to love, representing romantic, familial, queer, and platonic love along the way.
A must-see for fans of Adele's music, lush vocal harmonies, and brilliant storytelling.

Oliver John is a well-respected Adelaide-based vocalist, creative, singing teacher and performer of whom recently completed a Bachelor of Music Theatre at the University of Adelaide in the Elder Conservatorium. He most recently played Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar (ECMT, dir. George Torbay), and has appeared in Candide (State Theatre Company/State Opera South Australia, dir. Mitchell Butel/Amy Campbell), Little Women, Shrek The Musical (ECMT, dir. Erin James), and Sweeney Todd (ECMT, dir. James Millar). Oliver musically directed Prince Alfred College’s production of Urinetown, on which he also made his conducting debut. In 2023, Oliver travelled interstate as a vocalist in HELLO: Erin Jae’s Tribute to Adele as part of the Under The Stars Festival (Australian Shakespeare Company).
