Let's Batik
Imagine being able to design your very own beautiful scarf by choosing your design and colours. This is your chance to make a memorable experience in this weekly Award winner workshop from Adelaide Fringe 2024.
Let's Batik to create a beautiful printed tapestry that you'll adore. We'll use brush painting & Tjanting tools to create the resist art with hot beeswax. Indonesian batik was titled to be the masterpiece of human heritage by UNESCO.
You'll be guided by Rehana to make your very own batik tapestry, who has presented this workshop at several councils, schools and WEA. Enjoy her stories from around the world and benefit from her knowledge of textiles in this hands-on session.
A three-hour beginner friendly session for 15+ years with all materials included. Relax, create & try some Pakistani street food for a small donation for a cancer charity.
Workshop incursions available for schools upon request. Please contact Schools Program Coordinator at schools@adelaidefringe.com.au to make a booking or for more information.
Bring your own apron, a plastic bag, reading glasses (optional). Plenty of free parking. Try some Pakistani snack for a gold coin donation.
Please note: This event has had a date change from 11/3/25 to 4/3/25 since the Adelaide Fringe Guide was printed.
