How To Be An Immigrant
For one week only, award-winning comedian Riv Narak, debut's 'How to be an Immigrant', a poor man's equivalent of 'Neighbours' crammed into an hour comedy show. Exploring the misunderstood (or overly understood) identity of a “currymuncher,” Riv's set takes sharp jabs at stereotypes, relationships, privilege, and the great voyage of assimilation.
Think of it as a “how-to” guide for new Australians—or, better yet, a cautionary tale. BYO Curry.

Riv is a Sydney-based comedian who has performed throughout Australia and once in Japan. He is sometimes referred to as the Voice of Western Sydney and, on occasion, compared to the next Russell Peters (Not Russell Peters, but compared to whoever will be the next Russell Peters). His comedy has been described as raw, which is a polite way of saying it can be incoherent at times. To be fair, English is his second language.
In 2024, Riv debuted his first solo show at the Sydney Fringe Festival. He will be touring this show in 2025, with appearances at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Melbourne Comedy Festival, and Sydney Comedy Festival.
Riv regularly opens for internationally touring comedians such as Jaspreet Singh, Vipul Goyal, Gaurav Gupta, and Amit Tandon.
