Watercolor painting of a person with their back to the viewer, carrying a suitcase in each hand and a guitar on their back, facing a horizon of hills, as if embarking upon a journey. In the top far right corner, a bright cityscape beckons in the distance.
A silhouette of onlookers in the shadows, appears at the bottom of the image.
11 watercolour portraits of female blues pioneer musicians, each within a unique ornate picture frame. The portraits are loosely arranged surrounding the main event image, which features on the event poster.
Watercolour painting of a caucasian woman with short blonde hair, accompanied by a black male singer on either side of her. They are huddled around a vintage microphone, singing with their eyes closed. At the forefront of the painting is a shadowed silhouette in dark purple, of people, looking and cheering. In the far distance a single line silhouette reveals a backdrop of a civil rights rally, with flags, waving fists and crowds of people.

Her Story - of the Blues

Returning the spotlight to the point of origin, Mari-Trees embarks upon a sonic mission to restore recognition.

Presenting music of the trailblazing women who pioneered the blues, conceived rock & pop, and were then - promptly forgotten! Music from the Mississippi Delta - to the clubs of Harlem - to your local Petrol Station.

Enraged by erasure and colonial continuity, this one-woman-warrior determines to dismantle the shelves of history, revealing the genesis of rock music in the legacy of these early blues women.

Featuring Mari-Trees on all instruments. Tap, clap, hum & sing along!
