Alchemy returns to Fringe 2025 with an exciting new production: a comedic, solo dance theatre show by the 2024 BEST EMERGING ARTIST WINNER Kate Burgess.
Have you ever suspected your partner might be cheating, only to brush it off as paranoia? That’s what Kate believed, until she uncovered chilling evidence that she wasn’t the only woman in her partner’s life.
Join Kate on a rollercoaster journey through a series of unfortunate events. This story unfolds through contemporary dance and a touch of burlesque, as she navigates the highs and lows of love, betrayal, and the complexities of modern dating.

Alchemy Dance Collective was formed in 2023 between its founders, Kate Burgess, Caroline De Wan, and Hanna Instrell-Walker. Alchemy acts as a platform for the three founders to develop their own artistic projects, and acting as presenters/producers, whilst also supporting local artists in professional development as an incubator.
Alchemy have produced works that include Soul & Deja Vu, Pulp, Grim Grinning Ghosts, Sentiments and That’s Amore. They have also established programs/events including Trilogy Film Fest. J.A.C.D, and a secondment program with Adelaide College of the Arts.
Alchemy’s long term plan is to be self-sustaining through studio hire and class fees, to allow independent artists to keep creating work in a safe establishment,
