Far Far Away
If humans are destined to wander, then what's left in the far far away?
We began, 70,000 years ago, left our homeland at the brim of sunlight. Yet however, we come under the last light of the day. In the year of 2442, we will face the failure of the twelve space colonisation, announcing that we have run our course. What makes us now, is our past.
We sprout, we expand, we are still in the pot.
'Far Far Away' is a physical-experimental journey, that explores struggles of root and identity of younger generation of Hong Kong in this era, which truth is lost in translation, with movements of acute accent, new approach of writing, and powerful vibration of live music.
Searching for answers in this hour? It doesn't exist. All we provide is questions.
This event has English Subtitles.
Presented by: Feast on Waste Land & The Garage International
Feast on Waste Land is a group of post-90s performing artists from Hong Kong. We ask, in our finite bodies what are infinities. We strive, to stretch beyond the boundaries at where we stand. We fight, to speak what ought to be said.
We are graduates of a youth physical theatre training course at Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio. We share physical training as our common language, create in collective work. We wish to continue creating and searching for more possibilities of theatre. Far Far Away is our first endeavor, premiered in August at Let's Be Together Arts Festival X Hong Kong 2019. Awarded Adelaide Tour Ready Award, we are honoured to bring the work to Adelaide.
The world is a waste land, that we are eating into, and what we are part of.
In dark times, we choose to respond with art.
