James Watson wrote his first play, 'A Domestic Autumn', while at St Ignatius College in Adelaide where he was also captain of drama and editor of the student magazine while studying year 12 in 2016. 'A Domestic Autumn' and another of his plays, 'Angry Love' have been produced by the University of Adelaide Theatre Guild. 'A Domestic Autumn' was also shortlisted for the 2015 South Australian State Theatre Company Young Playwrights Award and has been published by AustralianPlays.org
His other play 'Empty Vanity' won the 2016 South Australian State Theatre Company Young Playwrights Award (under 18's).
James has worked as a props manager (on 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' 2015, winner of the ATG's 'Best Drama' award) and actor (appearing in 'The Peach Season' 2016) with the University of Adelaide Theatre Guild.
