Catapult x Adelaide Fringe 2025 WIP Artist Talk
Join emerging artist Truc Truong and mentor Jen Mathews, co-director of Fab Workshop and Studio, for the culmination of the Catapult x Adelaide Fringe mentorship. This work-in-progress exhibition features welded sculptures and an industry talk focused on creating culturally safe spaces, navigating artistic practice, and forging unique pathways in art and fabrication.
Presented by: Truc Truong
Truc Truong works across assemblage, installation, and sculptural forms, with a focus on challenging invisible systems of power and control. Her practice engages with unconventional materials, often questioning concepts of authenticity, value, and survival in a world shaped by colonial legacies and global capitalism. Drawing on her Vietnamese heritage and personal family history, Truc’s work delves into the complexities of cultural resilience, remembrance, and how we inherit and reinterpret traditions.
Truong graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Art and Design (Honours) in 2022. Since then, she has been selected for prestigious programs such as the ACE Studio Program in Adelaide and the Primavera exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney.
