Becky Brunning: Beaming

Comedy • Stand Up

UK (non boy) comedian Becky Brunning is cool. 1/32nd Jamaican but also very, very British. Edgy and average: the lovechild of rock 'n' roll and cardigans. She'll whip you up and slam you down with mild stories and hazy tales. Puts the comfort in comedy and the toothpaste lid on the tube because that's where it lives. All human. Bugs Bunny with sex appeal. Happiness without the risk. Love without the mess.

UK Funny Women Finalist.

Winner Stand Up and Get Heard.

Appearing soon in the final series of hit UK drama Broadchurch.

"Original, inventive and exciting" Sara Pascoe

Presented by: Becky Brunning

UK stand-up comedian, writer and actor, Becky recently appeared
on BBC Speech Bubble, and was a nominee in the prestigious Magners New Comedy Act 2015. She can soon be seen in season 3 of hit UK drama Broadchurch. Awards include Stand Up and Get Heard (2013) and Rose and Crown New Act Award (2014). She trained in Lecoq inspired physical theatre and clowning at the London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA). Her natural comic awkwardness and uncontrived style, guaranteed her place as Finalist at the national Funny Women Awards (2013). She premiered her critically acclaimed character solo show, The Olympic Gene, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2010, which toured the UK and enjoyed a guest appearance at BBC Sports Personality of the Year. She is one half of comedy double act Brunning & Markwick, whose show, Six Steps to Joy, premiered at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe and gained Arts Council funding for development and touring. She featured in the UK Kia TV advert in 2015.
