This is the kind of fun family show you get when theatre meets choose-your-own-adventure! An awesome mix of mystery, song, dance, laughter and audience participation that will entertain the whole family as you try to work out who stole the golden icecream scoop.

Our kids aged 6 and 8 had a great time – both of them really got into the audience participation and loved that they got the chance to help direct the storyline, with heaps of giggles! Of course, kids being kids, they always seemed to cheer loudest for the funniest, silliest choice – but that’s why they loved it. And what’s not to love about the idea of getting to help choose spaghetti bolognaise flavoured ice-cream, or figure out the clues to who stole the Golden Ice-cream Scoop?!

Set in the very awesome wetlands amphitheatre area of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, the show is in gorgeous surrounds of the gardens that adds the perfect backdrop to this great family show. The setting is perfect for an interactive kids show because everyone can see and hear the whole story line and that’s important for when the kids get to choose the next option for the on-going show. The cast of 8 fun, quirky, ice-cream loving actors bring the kind of energy needed to entertain even the smallest members of the family, while the plot will keep the older kids trying to work out who the thief is.

Best suited to 5-12 year olds (and enjoyed by their family’s too), the Junior Detective Collective show is definitely one to check out this Fringe season.
