Sillouette of a mans head set against a sea backdrop. Inside his head is the image of a trawler heading into dark stormy clouds. Two five star reviews on display for the play.

Trawled - when adventure becomes survival

A jaw-dropping story set on the Coral Sea, Australia. An Irish backpacker blags his way onto a prawn trawler. There he discovers a rarely seen world of hard labour and harder fishermen, where drinking, fighting, storms and hungry sharks are part of everyday life. His raw, exuberant story of adventure twists dramatically into survival culminating in an unforgettable moment of redemptive grace.

Trawled is a one-man biographical drama. The actor plays himself 25 years younger!

This is classic storytelling that plays out like a movie.

★★★★★ "Trawled is a play that cannot be missed" Theatre Thoughts Australia

This is a brave, bold solo performance expressed with such honesty, lightened with moments of delightful, self-deprecating Irish humour - Vivien Devlin, Edinburgh Guide

  •

The storyline can be harrowing in places and the treatment he endured at the hands of the captain and the other two crew members was cruel - Outthere1971, Theatre and Art Reviews

Trawled is a play that cannot be missed. I would love to see where Ryan is able to take this. He's led an interesting life. To say the least - Amber Spooner, Theatre Thoughts Australia

Eoin is an engaging storyteller, full of Irish blarney - Howard, One4Review
