Xani - An Inaccurate History of Electronic Dance Music

Music • Contemporary
Victoria • SA Premiere

During lockdowns, we had to imagine a future without dance. No beat, no floor, no rhythm to keep us moving. Enter electric violinist and vocalist Xani. For one night only, Xani explores what it might feel like to lose dance entirely—and then boldly rewrites its legacy. Through violin, vocals, drum kit, lighting and loops, Xani weaves her own fictitious take on dance music’s evolution, capturing the primal, transcendent pulse of electronic dance music. From past genres to future fictions, she crafts a dance floor and live music listening experience, alive with grit and raw energy, where violin leads. Ready to join her?
