Working Out Material

Comedy
World Premiere
You may have seen comedians sweat on stage, but this is a line-up show with a difference!

Hosted by ex-academic, ex-corporate lawyer, banjo player and sort-of-for-a-bit-one-time personal trainer Alice Fraser, 'Working Out Material' puts the Fringe's best stand-ups outside their comfort zone, as they attempt to perform whilst facing physical workout challenges. It's high-impact hilarity as they pedal, pump and lunge their way to the punchlines.

We want to take working out less seriously, embracing silliness and celebrating the capabilities of the human body in all its forms.

Please note, while our venue is upstairs, we aim to make the show as accessible as possible as we celebrate the joy of the human body. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to assist you in attending!

Presented by: Kate Cassidy

Kate Cassidy stumbled into the comedy and festival world in the UK in 2015. Despite a degree in criminology and counterterrorism, she realised her calling whilst backstage at the Glastonbury Festival cabaret tent. Since then she has organised successful charity fundraisers and worked behind the scenes at countless festivals and events, including Edinburgh Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and worked for Fringe World at home in Perth.

Host Alice Fraser is an Adelaide Fringe veteran, and has performed critically acclaimed and sold-out solo shows around the globe. She writes for The Project on Channel 10, is a regular on Andy Zaltzman’s “The Bugle” podcast, and her own podcast “Tea With Alice” is a cult hit. She is also performing her solo show ETHOS.
