The Welcoming Centre

The Welcoming Centre, 100 Drayton St, Bowden, SA, 5007

The Welcoming Centre is an initiative of Welcoming Australia, providing support to people seeking asylum, refugees & new arrivals through English classes, volunteer & work experience opportunities, emergency relief and friendship. The venue hosts Welcoming Australia's annual Adelaide Fringe event.

The venue is open to other Adelaide Fringe events and consists of a medium sized hall with capacity to accommodate 50 people comfortably and a medium hall which seats 80 -100 theatre style comfortably. The venue has complete kitchen facilities, with flexible seating arrangements. The venue has reverse cycle air conditioners. Toilets are located outside the facility and there is a small car park at the back of the building. There is currently limited wheelchair accessibility, with a permanent accessibiity ramp to be installed in late 2021.
