The State Library of South Australia is the largest public research library in the state and an important cultural institution in South Australia. It is home to the historic Mortlock Wing which is consistently voted among the most beautiful libraries in the world.

The State Library offers two performance spaces during the Fringe, including the Mortlock Wing and the Hetzel Lecture Theatre. Both spaces are accessible via the main glass foyer entrance.
