Try Buddhist Meditation

• Workshop
South Australia

Come and be gently led through either a mindfulness or cultivation of loving-kindness practice by Ordained members of Adelaide’s Triratna Buddhist Community.

Mindfulness is a mental state cultivated by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.  It has been a main focus of Buddhist practice for 2,500 years and can assist with reducing stress and anxiety, and help improve focus and clarity of mind.

In the loving-kindness practice we are working with our emotions, learning to enter more fully into positive and enjoyable mental states as well as cultivating a more kindly attitude towards others, which in turn enables us to live more harmoniously with those around us.

No experience necessary.

Presented by: Adelaide Triratna Buddhist Community

The Triratna Buddhist Order and Community is a worldwide movement of people who practice the Buddha’s teachings in ways that suits the modern world.

Buddhism teaches that transforming our minds is the only real antidote to our own personal sorrows, and to the anxieties, fears, hatreds, and general confusions that we commonly experience.

Buddhist meditation practices encourage and develop concentration, clarity, emotional positivity, and a calm seeing of the true nature of things - helping us learn the patterns and habits of our minds, and cultivating new, more positive ways of being.

With practice, these nourishing, focused states of mind can deepen into profoundly peaceful and energised experiences which can have a transformative effect and can lead to a new understanding of life.
