The Sorry Mum Project

Theatre and Physical Theatre • Performance
SA Premiere

Recently, writer and performer, Pippa Ellams, decided she should treat her Mum better. It's not that she treats her that badly, they just clash as people. Mum loves the colour red, Pippa hates red. Mum loves 'The Block', Pippa likes good T.V shows.
Point is, after everything they've been through Pippa feels like she's never apologised properly. So she thought no better time than now... 1,375km away from home.
Fresh out of a sell-out run at Bondi Feast, Pippa is taking her apology on the road to prove that the depth of her sorry-ness doesn't stop at state lines. Because just saying 'I'm sorry' to the person who literally made you exist doesn't quite cut it.
'The Sorry Mum Project' is an autobiographical, REAL (if not slightly OTT) apology-cum-performance work dedicated to Pippa's Mum.

Please note since the guide has gone to print this event has been moved to the Exhibition Hall at the National Wine Centre.

Presented by: Pip and Han Inc.

Pip and Han Inc. is the creative partnership between Pippa Ellams and Hannah Goodwin. Pippa is a playwright and performer, and Hannah is a director, producer and performer. Together we develop and stage new plays and works of new writing less easily categorised. We make theatre that is of now, that reflects the challenges of the world around us - as we see it. Our work is crisp and modern, fast and nostalgic, bold and fun. We make and contribute to work that offers an alternative vision on how women can and should be represented on stage. Prior work as a company includes: The Carousel (Shopfront Arts Co-op 2017, Downstairs Belvoir 2017, MerrigongX 2018, Kings Cross Theatre 2018) and The Sorry Mum Project (Bondi Feast 2018).
