The Sickle of Love

Cabaret • Comedy
Northern Territory • SA Premiere
An outrageous story of Sveta, a Russian immigrant who came to Adelaide many years ago, in search of love. Then she disappeared.... Rumours are that she went North before COVID hit. Where has she been? Did she meet an old croc? What happened on her date with Borat? How many dates has she had? She's older but is she wiser? Has she stopped searching?

Come on a musical adventure. It's a little bit Russian with a 60's twist, where you can laugh, tap your feet and sing out loud and not get shot.
'Sickle' is the creation of Lana Jankowiak with the support of family and cherished friends, whose journey of self-discovery as she learned about her Russian heritage, was the inspiration for the character of Sveta. A tribute to her heritage- to her mother who was a survivor and her greatest inspiration.

Presented by: Sveta Lyublyu & The Garage International

Lana has had no formal training in performance or event management however her passion, dreams and highly developed organisational, communication and presentation skills, have motivated her to pursue her performing dream and hopes to inspire others to follow their own dreams...particularly magnificent middle aged marvels!
After working on an island resort, a group of talented musicians and friends invited Lana to join the show band 'Hanky Panky', and years were spent entertaining at RSL, League Clubs and Corporate events in Qld.
Her first show 'The Sickle Of Life’ was written, funded, produced and performed with assistance from a great many family and friends. Lana’s dream was realised when she was able to complete and perform the show before her mother passed away in June 2009.
