Sahoj Manush
An independent music wing of Theatre Circle, this group is dedicated to promoting and preserving the folk songs of Bangladesh’s marginalized regions both nationally and internationally. They research and perform works of legendary poets such as Lalon Sai, Hasan Raja, Shah Abdul Karim, Jalal Uddin Khan, Bijoy Sarkar, Palli Kabi Jasim Uddin, and Kanai Lal Shil. The group also revives traditional forms like Pala Jatra, Jaari, Baul, saree, and wedding songs. Using authentic Bengali instruments—dhol, flute, ektara, dotara, harmonium, and more—their artists, many of whom are seasoned professionals, perform with heartfelt simplicity across stage, radio, and television to spread Bengali language and culture.
