PLINTH

PLINTH is a curated presentation of contemporary pedestal practice- a rigorous exploration of elevation and the authority of the support structure.

For one evening only, experience a gallery space where we celebrate the art of stability- putting the pedestal on a pedestal. Presented are a collection of sculptural and interrogative pieces including: a plinth constructed entirely of bread, explorations of monkey child psychology, and other works exploring the dichotomy of fragility and permanence.

Each stands elevated, unburdened by object. Guest speakers will deliver addresses situating the exhibition within broader artistic lineages. Artists will congregate. Will anything sell?

Please note: Due to the politically charged nature of certain works the exhibition may be subject to disruption.

The show is a standing participatory immersive theater piece- patrons will need to move around to view the art and interact with the artists.
