After a successful year in 2016, School of Chinese Music & Arts is back
with the biennial show! Introducing erhu to Eastern harps (guzhengs)
that meet with Western strings (a string quartet), be mesmerised by the
fusion of these strings performing traditional and contemporary music.

School of Chinese Music & Arts was founded in 2005. It is dedicated to
enriching the local SA community with its music and arts, in particular
Chinese music. It has since been delivering Chinese cultural music
workshops in schools, public and private events, locally and interstate.
An estimated number of more than 120 schools have been visited and more
than 4000 school students have experienced our workshops. Recent years
it has been engaged in several community projects – Multicultural
storytime, SA Youth Chinese Orchestra. The school’s new branch is
opening up in central markets – come along and check us out!

Zhao Liang, began learning the Guzheng (Chinese harp) at the age of six in Singapore. Arriving in Adelaide in 2004, Zhao established the School of Chinese Music & Arts in Gouger St. Zhao is an exciting and highly accomplished performer - she has played solo or with groups at many important events including OzAsia Festival, Government House receptions, Festival Centre concerts and other public and private events. She has also been a guest lecture at the Adelaide University Confucius Institute, and also performed live on ABC Radio and on Radio Adelaide.
In recent years, Arts SA has funded her to attend Masterclasses in China to further support her training of local artists and musicians in Chinese Music.
