Nahlla: Latin Surrealism
A live music experience by Colombian artist Nahlla and her band, fusing Latin folk rhythms (cumbia, salsa, son cubano, bolero, bambuco) with pop, rock, and experimental contemporary sounds. Through music, movement, and poetic storytelling, the show explores resilience, migration, women’s empowerment, and mental health—inviting audiences to embrace courage and cross-cultural connection. Set in a dreamlike, ethereal atmosphere shaped by symbolic lighting and surreal visuals, it celebrates multicultural identity and the power of art to unite, heal, and inspire hope. Be part of a night that celebrates diversity and shared humanity through powerful music and exceptional performers.
Presented by: Nahlla Barbosa
Nahlla is a Colombian singer-songwriter and performer based in Adelaide, Australia. Her music transforms pain into expression, weaving stories of resilience, identity, and healing. Blending Latin folk rhythms — cumbia, bambuco, merengue, salsa, son cubano, bolero, and Latin jazz — with pop and experimental sounds, she creates an authentic and emotional fusion. Nahlla collaborates with Mariposa Trails on suicide prevention, performed at the National Suicide Prevention Conference 2024, awarded Students Got Talent 2023, and was selected for Nexus Arts Interplay 2025 and the Adelaide Fringe Cultivate residency. Her art celebrates hope, empowerment, migration, and the strength of human connection.
