One man's mission to save the world with his beard (well, half a beard)

From planting funnel webs inside land clearing trucks as a 7 year old to swinging in trees to stop logging in Tassie in his teens. Jimmy has been at the forefront of Australian activism for over 25 years. This one-man show takes you on a journey through Australian activism from the 90s to now. Jimmy will share what he's learnt over the years and how his new approach to activism is going to save the world.

Every ticket sold $2.50 goes towards protecting an acre of rainforest.

Followed by a screening of Tarkine Together a story about the effect of Wilderness on the Human Experience. This documentary aims to give a voice to the Tarkine and explore why the Tarkine has been amongst Australia`s longest running conservation debates.

For tens of thousands of years the Tarkine which covers 447,000 hectares of Wilderness in the North West region of Tasmania, has been revered by Indigenous Cultures who`s very way of life depended on an intimate Nature/ Culture balance. Today we view such places as commodities for Forestry, Mining Resource Extraction Industries, and Tourism.

I'm a passionate environmental activist, who is on a journey to ensure we secure the end of deforestation and in doing so, hopefully, avert the impacts of catastrophic climate change. The climate crisis is here NOW and has been increasing in momentum over the past 3 decades - that is, in my lifetime. There are now credible predictions that we may see global temperature increases by 1.5 degrees as soon as 2020. If we fail to act collectively, the planet and all life on it will inevitably be changed forever and it won’t be a world we are familiar with now.

I'm HalfCut for 365 days to ignite individual action in others - it’s easy and anyone can do it. By encouraging others to more actively participate in their future. Together we can work toward solutions to address deforestation, the climate crisis and biodiversity conservation.
