Italian Food & Wine at the WEA - Next Stop Piemonte

Eat and Drink • Food and Drink
South Australia • SA Premiere

Join SA food identity Rosa Matto and WEA's wine tutor, David Crossman for this special Fringe session, celebrating one of Italy's most loved regions, Piemonte.

Literally 'at the foot of the mountains', Piemonte boasts a variety of gastronomic delicacies to match its prestigious wines such as Barbera, Barolo and the gloriously fruity Asti Spumante.

Dishes will include Vitello Tonnato, Risotto al Barolo, Brasato al Barolo, Castelmagno DOP cheese of Piemonte, Castelmagno soufflé with walnuts and honey, Cipolle ripiene di magro and for dessert, Bonet.

Wines chosen by David to accompany three of Rosa's dishes are from mainly indigenous grape varieties.

There will be a white Cortese, a red blend of the classic Barbera and the noble Nebbiolo, and dessert wine Spumante d'Asti Bianco.
