Caledonian Castaways

Music • Blues & Roots
Australia • SA Premiere
Members of bands like Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Steve Boyd’s Rum Reverie and Louis King make up this supergroup of Melburnian ex-pat Scots blues/roots musicians, performing original music about their journeys from Scotland to Australia.

Channel your inner Scot, come along and shout “Goooaallll!” as the lads sing 'Archie,' while grainy footage of a 1978 World Cup Scottish wonder-goal plays onscreen.

Ska, funk, blues and country grooves. Tunes like "Bonnie Koori Girl” the story of Scots lad and Aboriginal girl, set to a rocksteady groove or “Caledonian Castaways” a country lament about the huge journey made by Scots to reach Australia. Great musicians, great patter.
