Ăn cơm
'Ăn cơm' or simply 'Eat rice' means much more than the term suggests. In Vietnamese custom it is one of the highest honours to be asked to join someone's home to share a bowl of rice. Premiered in 2025 and awarded the best show at the Adelaide Fringe Eats & Drink category, 'Ăn cơm' returns for one show only. Six guests will be treated to four hours of cooking lessons, food and wine degustation and the story telling of my family's daring escape from war-torn Vietnam to Hong Kong then Australia.
Ticket includes food and wine.
For any specific dietary requirements, please contact dungthanhhuynh@gmail.com or 0411 777 658 prior to the event. Companion Card tickets receive entrance to the show only.
Presented by: Dung Huynh
Born in a wooden shack in a fishing village in Central Vietnam, I grew up in a refugee camp in Hong Kong for five years before immigrating to Adelaide. I became the first member of my family clan to ever attended university. I was awarded a scholarship to study international business in The Netherlands. After university I worked for a Fortune 500 company in London and Hong Kong before giving up my corporate life to return to Adelaide to raise my four sons on a cucumber farm. My love of food, wine and travel has lead me to creating this show.
