If you, too, are a woman who came of age in the 2000s, you will connect to Urvi’s story.

In this 50-minute, stand-up comedy show, audience members hear of Urvi’s life during her years at an all-girls high school, being the child of migrant parents and trying to find her way.

Warm and confident, Urvi is likeable and funny with her sometimes self-deprecating – and sometimes dark – humour, as she pokes fun at her teenage antics.

We hear stories of teenage angst, sibling rivalry, her dabble in witchcraft and the experience of going to the school formal.

From Dolly to Mean Girls and music by Simple Plan, the cultural references of that time are easy to connect with.

While engaging, her show could benefit from embellishing the true stories to create a stronger arc and punchlines.
